Carers Week 2017 – 12-18 June

Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and celebrate the difference they make to families and communities.

In the UK, 6.5 million people care for a family member or friend living with a long term health problem or disability.  The care they provide is unpaid but invaluable in allowing people to remain at home and within their community. Carers often don’t recognise themselves as carers, seeing their responsibilities as just being a husband/wife, son/daughter, a friend or good neighbour.

Here in North Somerset the Carers Support Alliance will be taking the message out and about during Carers Week. There will be advice and information sessions for all to learn more about the services on offer in North Somerset.
