National Apprenticeship Week 2019 - Dan's story
This week we’re supporting National Apprenticeship Week (4 to 8 March 2019).
This annual celebration of apprenticeships will bring the whole apprenticeship community together to celebrate the impact of apprenticeships on individuals and employers just like us.
Next up is Dan Hassell, who completed an apprenticeship after leaving school, and is now one of our customer experience coaches.
“I didn’t know what I wanted to do when I was leaving school, but I had some knowledge of the organisation, and knew there’d be opportunities with Alliance if I were to take up an apprenticeship.
“Working as part of our property admin team, I carried out administration tasks as well as getting involved with special projects, like working on contracts and tenders. From there, I moved to the heart of customer contact team, and now I’m one of Alliance’s customer experience coaches involved in training the team and supporting with customer queries.
“My apprenticeship taught me a lot about the work environment and working as part of a team.
"If somebody else was thinking about taking up an apprenticeship, I’d say 'you need to do it'! I didn’t really know what I wanted to do, and my apprenticeship allowed me to work out my strengths by seeing so much of a varied organisation.”
