Young people get foot on construction career ladder
Alliance Homes has teamed up with a large local construction project to offer a training programme that gives young people the work experience and key skills needed to get a first step on the construction career ladder.
Working alongside Rydon, Weston College and Job Centre Plus, the two week programme gives participants the chance to try their hand at a number of trade skills including carpentry, plumbing and bricklaying.
Several work placements will also be up for grabs to work on Tamar Court Alliance Homes’ new Extra Care facility which opens in Worle, later this year.
Michael Williams, Business Enterprise Manager for Alliance Homes, said:
“This innovative partnership has been established to help tackle the skills shortages and demand for opportunities to get into the construction sector. Providing candidates with the chance to gain skills, spend time on a live construction site and find out more about the careers available in the construction sector are a great addition to the CV!“
