Community Projects

We work with partners to deliver a wide range of projects, which are focused on creating opportunities for local people. Recent examples include; providing financial education to young people, working in partnership with a youth arts project and working with the local school to deliver forest school.

While the activities and projects we get involved in are quite diverse, we have one consistent aim and that is to improve local neighbourhoods for the benefit of the whole community as well as our tenants.

Growing Together

'Growing Together' aims to increase the access that people in North Somerset have to productive green spaces. It focuses on three main areas in Weston-super-Mare: Coleridge Road allotments, the Community Allotment near Windwhistle School and the Chocolate Gardens.

Westonworks is the community one-stop skills and Job Shop based at the Information Station in St Andrew's Parade in Weston-super-Mare. They are here to help local people reach their full potential in education, enterprise and employment.

Alliance Homes are one of the partner agencies of SWAN (South West Activity Network). SWAN is a collaborative group of organisers in Weston-super-Mare working with children, young people and families to deliver activities for all ages.

YMCA Youth Club

YMCA Somerset Coast was granted a 25 year lease by North Somerset Council in 2015. Alliance Homes supports the youth centre with the delivery of a Friday night youth club in partnership with Avon and Somerset Police and the YMCA. See events calendar for more information

I Love The Bournville

The I Love The Bournville campaign was an Alliance Homes initiative started in 2015 to promote all of the good things that happen on the Bournville estate in Weston-super-Mare and bring the community closer together. Its main legacy is the Facebook page which showcases local projects and activities. Like the Facebook page and keep up to date on what’s going on.

For residents of the Bournville there is also a tool hire scheme for you to borrow the tools that you need to maintain your garden. Contact your local Community Warden Shane Edwards who is based at the Information station to find out more about this scheme.

Big Worle

Big Worle is an exciting opportunity for Worle residents to invest £1m to make a massive and lasting difference to their community.
