Right to Buy/Right to Acquire

If you were a ‘secure’ tenant of North Somerset Council before 6 February 2006, you may qualify for the preserved ‘Right to Buy.’

If you became an ‘assured’ tenant of Alliance Homes on or after 6 February 2006 you may qualify for the ‘Right to Acquire.’

Whether you have the 'Right to Buy' or the ‘Right to Acquire’ will depend on the type of tenancy you have. In addition, certain types of homes may not be eligible for 'Right to Buy' or ‘Right to Acquire’, such as temporary accommodation or housing for the elderly.
